Zesco United made a huge step

toward their CAF Champions

League aspirations when they

came from a goal down to hold

ASEC Mimosas away in Abidjan to

move into second place in Group

A.

Nabi Kone had put the hosts

ahead in the 75th minute but

Zesco United were back on level

terms four minutes later through a

Jackson Mwanza goal.

In the first leg Zesco United were

3-1 winners at home to leave the

Ivory Coast side without a win over

the Zambian champions over two

legs.

George Lwandamina’s side are

level on points with table toppers

Wydad Casablanca who lost 1-0

away to Al Ahly in another Group A

clash.

Both teams have 7 points but

Wydad has a better goal difference

while Al Ahly and Asec are in third

and fourth position respectively

with four points apiece with only

goal difference separating them.

The group is far from decided with

two more rounds of games to play

with Zesco United away to Al Ahly

on August 12 before completing

their fixtures with a home tie

against Wydad Casablanca on

August 23.
