FDD President Edith Nawakwi says violence cannot be used to solve the people’s problems but ideas which only the FDD has demonstrated in their manifesto.
The FDD President said her party is the only political party in this coming elections that is conducting an issued based campaign. She said governments in Africa have a tendency to hold on to power by manipulating the electoral process and holding its citizens in the shackles of poverty to make it easy to manipulate them.
Ms Nawakwi was speaking during a Press briefing at Protea Hotel in Lusaka where People’s Party President Mike Mulongoti endorsed Edith Nawakwi for the forthcoming August elections as a preferred candidate with a plan to take Zambian’s out of poverty.
Mr Mulongoti said despite Zambia having mineral wealth many of its citizens wallow in poverty. ” You have a great task ahead of you Zambian’s. We have to collectively work together men and women, young and old. It’s not an individual right of one person that only he can work for this country as portrayed in the medial.
Mr Mulongoti said he was endorsing the only female candidate in the Presidential race because she had what it takes to bring development to Zambians.
