Media reports in Zambia have announced about the arrest of Peter Habasimbi matured 49 years of Chawama in Lusaka for making offending remarks against the President Edgar Lungu.It is charged that Habasimbi was nabbed by security agents for offending the Presidency after he compared President Lungu to a manhood.

As per Mwebantu media, the particulars of the offense are that Habasimbi on April 26, 2017 in Lusaka, with aim to bring the name of the President into scorn published an offending matter which stated, “Chikala wamene mu na votela President alengesa” (the Manhood you voted as President is the causer).

As indicated by court reports, Peter Habasimbi who is also a businessman of Chawama, maligned the President contrary to Section 69 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Peter pleaded not guilty when the matter came up on Tuesday in the Lusaka Magistrate Court and was given a K6000 bail with two working sureties.

The Court has set May 24, 2017 as the date for the following court hearing.
