ZAMBIA: THE POLICE HAVE ARRESTED UPND CADRES WHO ATTACKED A PF CAMP IN GWEMBE

POLICE on Southern province have picked up four suspected UPND cadres in Gwembe for attacking a Patriotic Front camp at Nachilala yesterday.
Police Deputy Spokesperson Esther Mwaata has identified the four suspects as Bright Chisagano aged 36, Ockline Chooma aged 26, Caphas Hichuunga aged 37, and Derrick Mwinga aged 23.
She says the four attacked a PF camp at Nachilala on 31st July 2016 at about 20:00hrs.
Mwaata says the four strayed into the PF camp and begun throwing stones at OF supporters.
“In another incident, six UPND cadres have been picked up for attacking Mirriam Hazela aged 24 in Gwembe of Southern province,” Mwaata saya.
Mwaata says the accused went to the complainant’s house where they begun throwing stones at her house.
She says the incident happened on July 29, 2016 at about 17:00hrs.
Among the detained are commander Mwinga aged 23, and Otray Halanga aged 22,” says Mwaata.
Mwaata also says all the suspects are currently detained in police and will appear in court soon.
