THE Electoral Commission of Zambia has dispelled allegations by some stakeholders that citizens who will vote for the adoption of the expanded Bill of Rights in next month’s referendum will be automatically voting for President Lungu.
ECZ public relations manager Crispin Akufuna said it is unfortunate that the referendum has become so politicised.
“I want to say that when you vote for a candidate at the presidential level or even at the parliamentary, mayoral, council secretary and even the councillor level, that is a separate vote from that of the referendum,” Mr Akufuna said.
He said this yesterday when he featured on the Hot Seat programme on Hot FM.
“So when you go to the queue, for those that will be on the referendum queue, whether to vote Yes or No
