MUNALI MMD parliamentary candidate Mike Mposha says he has no time to respond to political light weights.
‘’I have very little time to respond and fight people who are not politically known,” he said.
Mr Mposha said this in response to FDD’s Munali parliamentary candidate Antonio Mwanza who accused him of failing to deliver to the people of Munali constituency during his tenure of office as a ward councillor.
Earlier, Mr Mwanza accused Mr Mposha of destroying and removing his campaign posters because he was a ‘failure’ who had no agenda for the people of Munali.
Mr Mwanza said it was a well-known fact that Mr Mposha’s behaviour was a violation of electoral code of conduct which he was going to report to the commission and that if ECZ failed to take action, Mr Mwanza would take action against Mr Mposha .
But Mr Mposha said he did not want to retaliate to violence because President Edgar Lungu had been so clear that August 11 elections should be free of violence.
He said he wanted to win this year’s elections through ideas and not physical fights because that was going to reflect the kind of a Member of Parliament he was going to be.
Mr Mposha said it was regrettable that Mr Mwanza threatened violence against him when he was nothing but just a former UNZASU president who was expelled from UNZA.
Mr Mposha said if Mr Mwanza was accusing him of failing to deliver as a ward councillor, then it meant FDD president Edith Nawakwi also failed because he worked under her when she was Munali Member of Parliament.
He however said when he was councillor, he cleared the historical mountains of garbage and opened up roads which had been blocked in Kaunda Square. Mr Mposha also said he worked on the infrastructure development in Munali such as roads in Mtendere East, waste management system in Munali and improvement of trading infrastructure and connected electricity to the people of Tunduya.
He said he wanted to remind Mr Mwanza that to be an MP for Munali was a huge responsibility for him to equate it to the UNZASU presidency.
Mr Mposha said the Munali seat needed a person with a CV such as his who had in the past managed to deliver many projects.
