THE PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Kankoyo constituency parliamentary candidate Brian Mushimba says he will effectively lobby Government for infrastructure development and economic empowerment of youths and women in the constituency if elected Member of Parliament (MP) on August 11.
Mr Mushimba said lobbying Government for good roads and other infrastructure in the constituency would be one of his priorities once voted as MP because roads, schools and other infrastructure were currently in very bad state.
He said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that it would be easy for him to effectively lobby for rehabilitation and development of infrastructure in the area because he was coming from the ruling party which had already set the stage for economic development.
“The PF government of President Edgar Lungu has already set the stage for infrastructure development in various areas of the country and so if I am elected MP for Kankoyo, I will effectively lobby Government to put up good roads and rehabilitate schools which are in bad state.
“The role of the MP is to lobby for development in his or her constituency and I think I am equal to the task especially that am coming from a pro-poor party which has also set the stage for economic recovery and national development,” said Mr Mushimba.
He said apart from lobbying for infrastructure development, he would also ensure that women and youths were empowered through various Government programmes.
