CHIEFTAINESS Nkomenshya of the Soli people of Chongwe says she would have been the first person to chant the PF slogan “sontapo” if the Chalimbana road was done.

Speaking when President Edgar Lungu paid a courtesy call on her on Tuesday, the chieftainess told the President that the contract hired to work on the road has delayed.

She claimed that the contractor who was hired to work on the Chalimbana road was immature and was not sure of what he was doing.

Chieftainess Nkomenshya also complained that the time frame was given to a number of development projects to be undertaken in her chiefdom such as the construction of road and universities but they seem to be a delay.

And the chieftainess complained of having been blocked to meet President Lungu.

“I am happy to see you in Chongwe; I have struggled to meet you. You are welcome in my chiefdom and people in this area have been waiting for you since morning because they are eager to hear your message,” chieftainess Nkomenshya said.

And President Lungu addressing a rally at Chongwe primary school ground, said UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and his running mate Geoffrey Mwamba were bent at deceiving Zambians.

Mr Lungu said the two UPND leaders failed to agree on a number of things in their party a reason they should not be entrusted to run the affairs of the country.

He urged Chongwe residents to vote for Japhen Mwakalombe. The President asked for forgiveness from Chongwe residents for sending Mr Mwakolombe in the foreign service. President Lungu said, “Forgive us we made a mistake to send Mwakalombe to Mozambique but he is back
