Post Newspapers Proprietor Fred

M’membe has downsized his

workforce by sending more than

half of his newsroom on indefinite

and unpaid leave.

This follows Zambia Revenue

Authority to move to close

operations at the newspaper’s

editorial and printing press to

recover about K53million of

alleged unpaid taxes.

Deputy Managing Editor Joseph

Mwenda announced to employees

on Friday that some would have to

rest because the Newspaper is only

publishing eight pages per edition

and only managing a circulation of

7000 copies.

Some of the Journalists sent on

unpaid leave include Chiwoyu

Sinyangwe, Roy Habaalu, Abel

Mboozi, Kombe Mataka, Oliver

Chisenga and Tobias Phiri.
