A sombre mood engulfed a family in Durban, South Africa after a two-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool on Sunday afternoon, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics has reported.
According to the Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that medics had received a call from members of a neighbourhood watch group and they immediately rushed to the crime scene.
“We immediately rushed to the crime scene at Glenore, unfortunately we found that the child had already died. There was nothing else we could do with our Advanced Life Support Paramedics and the child was declared deceased at the scene,” said Garrith.
Jamieson further said they did not know the exact circumstances leading up to the drowning but Police were working around the clock to establish the cause of the incident.
Meanwhile, Kwazulu – Natal Police are urging home owners to install pool nets and gates as a precaution to avoid these unfortunate incidents from occurring.
