The Tshwane violence has left 2 dead and 40 Arrested, police said on Wednesday.

“Two of the suspects were shot and killed following looting in Mamelodi, Colonel Noxolo Kweza said.

The arrests were made in Hercules, Mabopane, Soshanguve and Mamelodi on Tuesday and Wednesday morning during the protests against the ANC’s decision to nominate Thoko Didiza as the mayoral candidate for the metro.

The violence occurred when the party made the announcement on Monday.

The people who were Arrested will face charges of public violence, theft and possession of stolen property.

” Those found breaking the law under the pretence of protesting, will be arrested, Kweza said.
