Since the crowning of Susan Mtegha in 2012, the beauty queen contest has been asleep. How ever, Zodiac Broadcasting station and Nation Publications Limited have brought good news by waking the contest from its sleep.

After successfully finding the beauty queens from the northern city of Malawi, Mzuzu in June this year, the contest will invade Lilongwe’s Sunbird Capital’s Viphya Room on Saturday, 30 July 2016 to find the beauty queens for the central region to contest in the final contest.

The organisers have there for asked girls who are willing to participate to do so because there is still big room for them.

“Interested ladies that have not yet expressed an interest, but qualify can also walk in at Capital Hotel today and take part in the audition.

Hopefuls should be 1.67 metres tall, aged between 18 and 26, with a minimum educational qualification of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE), have a good command of English, never married before and without children”, said the organisers.

The last stretch of auditions will take place in Blantyre on August 28, after which selected contestants will go into the last audition stage that will produce 15 finalists to contest for the crown in April next year.
