Malawi police has on Monday, August 1, 2016 augmented bail for Malawi Congress Party officials Jessie Kabwira, Peter Chankhwatha and MCP member Ulemu Msungama to October 3, 2016 for the sixth time now .

As indicated by report, The trio were captured and accused of conspiracy and sedition charges. The state asserts that the trio were conspiring on the most proficient method to topple President Peter Mutharika’s administration.

The source demonstrates that the trio showed up at Area 30’s Police Headquarters in the capital Lilongwe. Gustavo Kaliwo, the legal counselor speaking on behalf of the charged members, said it is pity that the police are continuously extending the proceedings depicting the behavior as torment towards his clients.

Kaliwo who is also MCP Secretary General implied that unmistakably the state needs adequate proof on the affirmed overthrow plot saying within the two months, the Defense group will make unspecified move against the police.

“The bail application has been stretched out to October 3, 2016. They continue giving us the same reasons that they are as yet investigating. In view of the condition the three experienced upon their capture in February, we thought the state had inescapable proof to prosecute them”, said Kaliwo.

He was further dismayed by this extension citing that it is squandering their time and energy to dependably be going to the police to no end.

“Though we don’t want to take our hands on the state for this unruly conduct, there’s no choice but to take unspecified action on the police to stop this madness”, concluded Kaliwo.
