Manchester United, have started strengthening their squad for the next season after signing Eric Bailly from a Spanish club, Villarreal.
Jose Mourinho, the new coach of the Red Devils signed the new central defender on a four year contract with an option for more two years.
After finalising the deal with the defender, Jose Mourinho said he is excited with the player and he hopes he will bring value to the team.
“He is a young and talented player, he has potential to become one of the best players in the world. I am looking forward to working with him at Old Trafford”, said Mourinho.
The Ivorian has 15 caps with the national team and he was part of the team which won Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.
Eric Bailly joined Villarreal from Espanyol in 2015 and he has played 47 games with the team which also reached the 2016 Europa League semifinals which they lost to Liverpool.
The signing of Eric marks the first of unexpected flurry of Mourinho, “Mr Special”, who likes signing superstars.
The Portuguese took over the reigns from Louis Van Gaal who was relieved of his duties by the Red Devils after the team’s poor performance last season.
