Mzuzu Police affirmed to News Watch Reviews that they have netted six people following the running battles that ensued on Wednesday afternoon between the Police and villagers at Ekwendeni where the latter grew tough to revenge on suspects who are alleged to have brutally murdered a taxi driver last Saturday.

However police managed to calm the situation and it is back to normal.

Mzuzu Police Publist Martin Bwanali identified the suspects as Godfrey Mtamba, 20 and Faith Chasunkha 19, both of Lwanda village, Mwaulambia, Chitipa, Wyson Banda 24, Chimuzi village, Joshua Hara 19, Chindima Mhango village and Mphatso Nkosi 18, Mtchauleni village, all of Traditional Authority (TA) Mtwalo in Mzimba district.

They will appear in court soon to answer charges of Proposing Violence which contravenes section 87 of country’s Penal Code.

Meanwhile people are advised to learn to allow justice take its course rather than taking law in their hands. People should be reminded anyone daring to revenge should be ready to face the wrath of the law.
