93 people have been struck and killed by lightning in India as an annual monsoon rains swept the country.
It is said that lightning strikes are common in India during the June to October Monsoon, which hit the Southern Coast earlier this Month.
The death occurred in the eastern state of Bihar and left 28 injured in rural areas.
“The death toll has left 93 killed and 28 injured, many of the victims are woman and children” Anirudh Kumar, a senior official and Bihar’s disaster management agency said on Wednesday.
Lightning kills thousands of Indians every year and mostly farmers working in the fields.
More than 2, 500 people died of lightning in India in 2014 according to the national crime records beuro.
