Wondering why one of the most famous actors in America, Sylvester Stallone (Rambo) chose to visit Likoma Island in Malawi? Let me tell you why!
Likoma Island is one of the best tourism place of attraction in Malawi, its attraction is its cathedral on which work begun in 1903. Likoma is the larger of the two inhabited islands in Lake Malawi in East Africa, the smaller being the nearby Chizumulu.
British Missionaries in response to a request by David Livingstone, established their headquarters in Likoma in 1880. And they assigned the island to Malawi rather than Mozambique when national borders were established in Africa.
The interior of Likoma Island is covered by grassland with a lot if baobab and mango trees. There you find small reptilians, amphibians, birds and other invertebrates.
There are beautiful hotels and lodges in Likoma Island. The place is surrounded by nature that is so beautiful, attractive and peaceful.
Access to Likoma Island is by boat or Charter Aircraft.
John Rambo is truly having a lot of fun in Likoma!
