A gas explosion in Ghana which occured on Tuesday left 0 people injured. The incident occurred at a factory in the Western Regional capital of Takoradi when a tanker which was discharging liquefied petroleum gas at the Ghana Household Utilities Manufacturing Company factory blasted out.
According to Ghanaian authorities through Assistant Divisional Officer of the Ghana National Fire Services Emmanuel Bonney, told Ghana news Agency that some 37 critically injured were airlifted to the military hospital in the capital, Accra.
“After the explosion took place, amongst the injured 37 who were critically injured were airlifted to the militaly hospital in Accra while the remaining victims were sent to different hospitals nearby”, said Bonney.
The Assistant Divisional Officer concluded that six fire service personnel present to control the situation were caught in the explosion, and one was critically injured.
Reports from Ghana indicates that the warehouse was razed down by the fire.
