The first day of TNM Super League started on a high note as some teams won their first games while others were held to goaless draws.
The big news on the first day is that Nyasa Big Bullets were held to a goaless draw by the newly promoted team from the northern region of Malawi, Chitipa United.
The ever shining Bullets misfired their weapons as they met the tough Chitipa united who stood on their heels not allowing the former champions to beat them. Bullets failed to negotiate a way past the defence of their opponents.
On the other side, Bullets’ long time rivals, Be Forward Mighty Wanderers FC collected maximum points in their opener against the defending Champions Kamuzu Barracks at the Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
The first half ended in a goaless as the teams failed to shake the opponent’s net. During the second half, Be Forward started on a high note as their best players, the likes of Joseph Kamwendo, Jafalie Chande and Alfred Manyozo Junior showed their brilliance as they mounted pressure on their opponents.
Their efforts paid dividend midway in the second half of play when Julius Kajembe who came from the bench headed home the only goal for Wanderers.
