Police in Salima have launched an intensive manhunt to trace unknown criminals who severely killed the head of Chipoka Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday.
As per Salima police publist, Gift Chitowe said the murdered CID is identified as Inspector Rhoda Pilirani Ng’oma, 42, of Kasanika Village under Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe in Rumphi district.
“We can affirm with you that the CID was killed on Monday, August 15 during the night hours at Chipoka in Salima district. We are currently tracing the guilty parties to bring them to book”, said Chitowe.
Police report made accessible to this publication exhibits that, on Monday, the deceased went to the Presidential opening ceremony of Salima Sugar Company and after the function she went straight to her home at Chipoka CEAR lines.
It is amid that night when unknown hooligans attacked her home where they killed her and stole assorted accessories from the house.
The dead body has been taken to Salima District Hospital mortuary where postmortem will be conducted.
In a related development, a wife and a husband died after a quarel broke out between them over the house ownership.
Chageleza Jabesi, 37, with his wife Tikhale Nowa, 32, quarelled over house ownership which the husband had built at the home town of his better half. The long standing quarel was fueled by his wife’s decision to send the man packing for good. This issue did not go well with him who later took a hoe and hit the lady on her head and she died on the spot.
The irate community members aprehended the man and stoned him to death as well. Both deceased persons hailed from Traditional Authority ( TA) Khombedza in Salima district.
Postmortem conducted revealed that the wife died due to head injuries while the husband kicked the bucket due various body wounds.
